Refund Policy
Effective date: May 8, 2026
Last Updated: May 8, 2026
This Refund Policy ("Policy") explains when and how refunds may be issued for paid subscriptions to Authorlytica ("Service"), operated by Studio Adam Rendo in the Netherlands ("we," "our," "us"). It forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. Defined terms not otherwise defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
In the event of any conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service on the subject of refunds, this Policy controls.
1. Summary
Paid subscription fees are non-refundable by default. Limited exceptions are set out below. Where we issue any refund outside a statutory entitlement, we do so at our sole and absolute discretion as a goodwill gesture; doing so does not create any entitlement, precedent, or course of dealing.
2. Free Plan
The Free plan involves no payment. There is nothing to refund. References in this Policy to "refunds" mean refunds of fees actually paid for a Premium subscription.
3. Premium Subscriptions — General Rule
When you subscribe to a Premium plan (monthly or annual):
- Fees are charged in advance for the full billing period
- All fees are non-refundable in whole or in part once charged
- Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period
- You retain Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for
This applies whether or not you actually use the Service during the paid period.
4. Automatic Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel.
- It is your responsibility to cancel before renewal if you do not wish to be charged
- Renewal charges are non-refundable, including where you forgot to cancel, did not see a renewal email, changed your mind, or stopped using the Service
- Any renewal reminders we send are a courtesy, not a legal precondition to charging
5. Annual Plans
Annual subscriptions are billed once for a full year at a discounted rate.
- The annual rate is offered in exchange for the year-long commitment
- We do not issue pro-rated refunds for unused months upon cancellation, downgrade, deletion, or non-use
- Switching from annual to monthly mid-cycle does not trigger a refund of the remaining annual period
- Switching plans mid-cycle does not generate credit unless we expressly confirm it in writing
6. EU and EEA Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction granting an equivalent right, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) days of subscribing, without giving a reason.
6.1 Immediate Performance and Loss of Withdrawal Right
Authorlytica is a digital service supplied without a tangible medium. At checkout you are required to:
- Expressly consent to immediate performance of the Service before the 14-day withdrawal period expires; and
- Acknowledge that, by giving this consent, you lose your statutory right of withdrawal once performance has begun.
By proceeding with checkout you are deemed to have given that consent and acknowledgement. We will provide written confirmation of your consent on a durable medium (typically by checkout receipt or confirmation email). Once these conditions are satisfied, no statutory right of withdrawal applies, in accordance with Article 16, point (m), of EU Directive 2011/83/EU as transposed in Dutch law (Article 6:230p, sub g, of the Dutch Civil Code).
6.2 If the Right Still Applies
If, for any reason, the right of withdrawal applies to your subscription (for example, because the conditions in §6.1 were not satisfied, or you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with broader non-waivable rights), you may withdraw within 14 days of subscribing by sending an unambiguous statement to contact@adamrendo.com, identifying your account email and the charge concerned.
Where you requested that performance begin during the withdrawal period, you remain liable for an amount proportionate to the Service supplied up to the point of withdrawal, calculated against the full subscription price.
We will refund any remaining amount within 14 days of receiving a valid withdrawal notice, using the same payment method as the original charge unless you expressly agree otherwise.
6.3 Model Withdrawal Form
A model withdrawal form is available on request from contact@adamrendo.com. Use of the form is optional; any unambiguous written statement is sufficient.
7. Discretionary Refunds
Outside any statutory entitlement, we may, at our sole and absolute discretion, issue a partial or full refund in cases including but not limited to:
- A duplicate charge caused by a payment-system error attributable to us
- A clerical error that resulted in you being charged for a plan you did not select
- An account that we terminate without fault on your part during a paid period (in which case the refund, if any, will be pro-rated for the unused remainder of the current billing period)
- A paid-only feature that we permanently remove and for which we elect to offer a refund in lieu of an alternative
Granting a refund in any one of these cases does not entitle any other user, or you in any other case, to a refund. We are not bound to follow any prior practice. We may require evidence (bank statements, transaction IDs, account verification) before issuing any refund.
8. Refunds Are Not Available For
Without limiting the foregoing, refunds are not available where:
- You changed your mind, lost interest, or stopped using the Service
- You forgot to cancel before renewal
- You did not read the Terms of Service, this Policy, the pricing page, or any pre-purchase disclosure
- You did not use the Service, or used it less than expected
- You expected a feature that was never advertised or promised
- A feature behaved differently than you wished but in line with documentation
- The Service was temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, third-party outages, or force majeure (see Terms of Service §12 and §16)
- You exceeded usage limits, were rate-limited, or had abuse controls applied to your account
- Your account was suspended or terminated for violation of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy
- You initiated a chargeback before contacting us (see §10)
- Your subscription was acquired through a promotion, discount, free-trial conversion, gift, voucher, bundle, or third-party offer (see §12)
- More than fourteen (14) days have passed since the charge in question, except where applicable mandatory law provides otherwise
- The refund would be inconsistent with applicable tax, payment-processor, or banking rules
9. How to Request a Refund
Send an email to contact@adamrendo.com containing:
- The email address associated with your Authorlytica account
- The transaction ID, invoice number, or approximate charge date
- A clear, specific reason for the refund request
Requests that omit this information may be delayed or declined. We aim to respond within 10 business days; we are not obligated to do so within any particular timeframe except where required by law.
10. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, contact us first. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer before contacting us, and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter, is a breach of these terms.
We treat unjustified chargebacks as fraud or breach of contract. Where we receive one, we may:
- Suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice
- Refuse future Service to you under any account, email address, or payment method
- Recover the disputed amount, plus any chargeback fees we incur, by any lawful means
- Provide records of your account activity, IP logs, consent timestamps, and pre-purchase disclosures to the payment processor in defence of the dispute
This section applies even where the underlying transaction would otherwise have qualified for a discretionary refund under §7.
11. Refund Method, Timing, and Costs
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only. We do not issue refunds in cash, store credit, cryptocurrency, or to a different account, person, or instrument
- Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. We are not responsible for foreign-exchange differences, bank fees, or card-network fees borne by you
- Payment-processor fees that are non-refundable to us (for example, Stripe processing fees on the original charge) may be deducted from any goodwill refund issued under §7. This deduction does not apply to refunds mandated by law (e.g., a valid EU withdrawal under §6)
- Standard refund processing takes 5–10 business days after we issue the refund, depending on your bank
- VAT and other taxes are refunded in line with applicable tax rules. Where a tax authority does not allow recovery of tax already remitted, any refund will be net of the irrecoverable tax
12. Promotional, Discounted, Gift, and Bundled Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased at a discount, through a promotional code, as part of a bundle, as a gift, via voucher, or through a partner offer are non-refundable in all cases, except where mandatory consumer-protection law expressly requires otherwise. Where mandatory law does require a refund, the refundable amount is limited to the actual amount paid by the consumer.
13. Account Termination and Forfeiture
If your account is suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy, any pending refund request is automatically void and any prepaid amounts for the current and future periods are forfeited, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Goodwill Refund Limit
Where we issue a goodwill refund under §7 (i.e., outside any statutory entitlement), we generally limit goodwill refunds to one per customer per lifetime, applied across all email addresses, payment methods, and accounts associated with you. Subsequent goodwill requests will normally be declined.
15. No Waiver, No Precedent
Issuing a refund, declining a refund, or communicating informally about a refund does not:
- Waive any of our rights under these terms
- Establish a course of dealing
- Create any entitlement for you or any other user
- Prevent us from declining a similar request in the future
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect, or your decision to renew or upgrade, means you accept the updated Policy.
The version of this Policy in effect at the time of the relevant charge applies to that charge.
17. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where any provision of this Policy is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that provision is severed and the remainder of the Policy continues in full force and effect.
18. Contact
For all refund requests and questions:
Please do not send refund requests through social media, in-app comments, or other informal channels — these are not monitored for billing matters and do not constitute valid notice.
