Refund Policy
Effective date: May 12, 2026
Last Updated: May 12, 2026
This Refund Policy ("Policy") explains how refunds work for paid subscriptions to Authorlytica ("Service"), operated by Studio Adam Rendo in the Netherlands ("we," "our," "us"). It forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.
We've kept this short on purpose. Refund policies should be readable.
1. The Short Version
If you change your mind within 14 days of any paid charge, send us an email and we'll refund you in full. No questionnaire, no exit interview, no "what could we have done better."
After 14 days, that charge is no longer refundable, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges.
That's the rule. The rest of this document is just the edge cases.
2. Free Plan
The Free plan involves no payment. There is nothing to refund. Everything below applies only to paid Premium subscriptions.
3. The 14-Day Refund Window
You can request a full refund within 14 days of any paid charge, including:
- Your first subscription charge
- Any renewal charge (monthly or annual)
- A plan-change charge, for example upgrading mid-cycle
You do not need to give a reason. "I changed my mind" or "I forgot to cancel" is enough.
The 14-day window runs from the date the charge appears on your statement, regardless of whether you actually used the Service during that period.
4. After 14 Days
Once the 14-day window has passed for a particular charge, that charge is non-refundable. You can still:
- Cancel your subscription at any time to stop future renewals
- Keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for
- Switch to the Free plan automatically when the paid period ends
We do not issue pro-rated refunds for the unused remainder of a paid period, including for annual plans. The annual price is offered in exchange for the year-long commitment, and we honour both sides of that.
5. Automatic Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
The same 14-day refund rule applies to renewal charges. If you forgot to cancel and notice the charge soon after, just email us within 14 days and you'll get a full refund.
We send a reminder before each annual renewal as a courtesy. The reminder is helpful, not a legal precondition to charging.
6. EU and EEA Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction granting a statutory right of withdrawal:
- The 14-day refund window in §3 meets or exceeds the statutory right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code
- You do not need to invoke the directive specifically. Emailing us within 14 days of the charge is enough
- If your local law grants a longer mandatory withdrawal period, that longer period applies and overrides this Policy
A model EU withdrawal form is available from contact@adamrendo.com on request. Using the form is optional; any plain-text email works.
7. When Refunds Are Not Available
Outside the 14-day window, refunds are generally not available. Refunds are also not available where:
- More than 14 days have passed since the charge in question
- Your account has been terminated for breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy
- You initiated a chargeback or payment dispute before contacting us (see §9)
- The charge was already reversed or refunded by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider for another reason
If your situation falls outside this list but you still think a refund is fair, email us anyway. We read every refund email.
8. How to Request a Refund
Send an email to contact@adamrendo.com with:
- The email address on your Authorlytica account
- The approximate date or amount of the charge
That's it. You don't need to explain why.
We aim to reply within 5 business days, usually sooner. Once approved, the refund goes back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
9. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first. A direct email almost always resolves the issue faster than a chargeback, and most refund requests within the 14-day window are approved on the spot.
Initiating a chargeback without giving us a chance to resolve the matter creates real costs for a small operation. Where we receive a chargeback that could have been resolved by email, we may:
- Suspend the account associated with the disputed charge
- Decline future subscriptions from the same person, email address, or payment method
- Provide records to the payment processor in defence of the dispute
We don't pursue legitimate disputes punitively. This section exists for the rare case where a chargeback is used in place of a refund request we would have granted anyway.
10. Refund Method and Timing
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method. We can't send refunds in cash, store credit, cryptocurrency, or to a different account or card
- Refunds are issued in the original currency of the charge. We are not responsible for currency-conversion differences or bank fees on your end
- Processing time is typically 5 to 10 business days after we issue the refund, depending on your bank
- VAT and other taxes are refunded in line with applicable tax rules
11. Promotional, Gift, and Bundled Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased through a promotion, discount code, voucher, gift, or third-party bundle are subject to the same 14-day refund window described in §3, but the refund is limited to the actual amount paid by the consumer. We don't refund the face value of a discounted code or the retail price of a bundle.
Subscriptions activated entirely through credits, free promotions, or partner offers (where no money was paid by you) have nothing to refund.
12. Account Termination
If your account is suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy:
- Any pending refund request is void
- Prepaid amounts for the current and future periods are forfeited, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law
- This does not affect statutory rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection law
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The version of this Policy in effect at the time of the relevant charge applies to that charge.
If a future change makes this Policy stricter, your existing subscription continues under the version you originally agreed to until your next renewal.
14. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where any provision of this Policy is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that provision is severed and the remainder of the Policy continues in full force and effect.
